Ask for advice There are many ways to research an upcoming trip, and now, social media means it’s easier than ever to ask locals for advice on what’s best to see. We shared some of our travel mishaps, and if you don’t learn from our mistakes, maybe you’ll relate. "I reach out to travel writers and YouTubers that live in the area I’m traveling to. They give great advice for both touristy and non-touristy things to see, do and eat, as well as areas to avoid. Some have even invited me to meet up with them and their friends. This happened in Rome and Barcelona!" says Austin Dillman. 15. Work for room and board If saving money and meeting people is on the top of your list of priorities, working while traveling is always an option. Websites such as Workaway and Helpx help connect backpackers and travelers with farms, home-stays, ranches and families where they can lend a hand in exchange for room and board. "I love working while solo-traveling. You can stay at a place and offer a few hours of your time and get accommodation and food free of charge. I personally like staying in the countryside and then going off to explore cities for a couple of days. "My best solo trips have been on cruises. You can easily go on excursions, and then enjoy downtime or chat with as many people as you want when back on the ship. Safe, easy, fun! I often add a few days before or after embarking or disembarking in various countries," says Mélanie Bouchard. 17. Expand your skills Whether it’s a semester abroad or a short course in a new city, taking part in an educational program in a different country is a great way to get a different view of life. "Take a class, learn a language, go on a walking tour, find a theme week. My solo travels were to Italy to attend language school. Classes were in the morning, with afternoons and evenings free, and lots of opportunities to mingle with others at the school. I've been on plenty of group trips since then, such as a week of yoga and painting," Deidre Heitman explains. Bisa ke pulau Lembongan dan Ceningan dalam 1 hari, atau menginap. gak keburu kesini ney, maybe next time Crystal Beach 9 am, ombaknya kencang. Ada beberapa turis yang sedang snorkeling walau arus nya begitu. ada ruang bilas 5-10ribu. Jasa snorkeling 1 spot ini 200ribu. Padahal ada juga yang menawarkan 4 spot termasuk ini 300ribu- cari di dermaga. Di sini juga ada warung. Pasirnya hitam, dan terbilang pantai yang pendek, di luar expektasi, walau ada turis yang bilang sunset disini bagus. Angel’s Billabong dan Broken Beach ini lokasinya cuma 1, tapi spot untuk lihat pantainya berlainan. Driver yang antar sudah tahu posisi untuk berfoto, jadi dia langsung antri dan aku tinggal ambil posisi jeprat-jepret yang banyak, hehe. Atuh Beach pas kesana kering saat lihat dari spot Diamond Beach, airnya sudah surut, sekitar jam 3-4 sore. Jadi cuma lihat dari situ aja, not interested Rumah Pohon ada 3 bangunan. Untuk berfoto di rumah pohon, harus turun dan naik tangga dulu- cukup jauh. Pas mau balik, harus naik, jadi agak ngos-ngos an. hehe. Jadi ku disana sekitar 1 jam . Dermaga Sanur ramai dari subuh, orang-orang suka melihat sun rise disini. Naik fast boat, kata beberapa blogger berombak kencang dan membuat mual. Tapi menurutku di pagi hari, airnya tenang. dan saat pulang jam 5 sore, airnya surut dan penumpang semua kapal harus berjalan ketengah laut dan menginjak karang untuk naik kapal kecil dahulu baru pindah ke kapal untuk ke Sanur. Jadi keadaannya agak padat karena karang untuk orang-orang berdiri menunggu kapal tidak terlalu lebar. Apalagi pihak kapal tidak memberi pengarahan, jadi banyak yang khawatir tertinggal kapal, sehingga desa-desakan. Ini terjadi setelah bulan purnama lewat- kata seorang ibu penduduk asli Nusa Penida. So, beware and don’t di Nusa penida ada beberapa spot perhentian kapal, jadi kalau mau janjian dengan driver, pastikan tempatnya yang jelas, karena signal juga kadang agak susah di Setelah turun dari kapal, ada banyak ibu dan bapak yang menawarkan jasa motor dan mobil. Mereka kebanyakan buka harga 75ribu untuk motor dan 600rb untuk mobil per harinya. Kalau aku sudah booking dari jauh hari sebelumnya Wayan masih muda081339229568. Bawa Terios nya memang pintar dan cepat sampai walau jalanan ada yang cukup parah- sempit, berkelok, menanjak dan berlubang-lubang besar. Jadi walaupun di perbolehkan stay di hostel tidak boleh masuk kamar, hanya di sekitar kolam, lobby, etc hanya seperti membuang waktu saja, karena mau keliling pun hanya beberapa jam sedangkan spot yang ada jauh-jauh. Snorkeling. Aku ikut paket yag sudah ada di hostel, yaitu 250ribu dan 25ribu x 2 untuk pulang pergi naik ojek ke dermaga. Pas di awal, aku konfirmasi dengan kapten kalau spot yang akan dikunjungi ada 4, tetapi ternyata hanya 3. Untuk patung Budha di dalam laut sudah tidak ada- sudah di angkut patungnya kata kapten, karena masalah persaingan tempat snorkeling kata kapten kapal lho. Spot snorkeling yang ku coba Gamat, Manta Point, Wall. Menurutku area snorkeling di Nusa Penida ini berarus SANGAT kencang, jadi sulit untuk berenang. Sudah sekuat tenaga mengayuh fin, tapi tetap di spot yang sama, hehe. Dan waktu itu tidak ada awak kapal, jadi kapten hanya menunggu di kapal, tidak ada yang menemani snorkeling. untung aku gak ilang n bisa balik ke kapal, hahaha Untuk daerah Wall, paling bagus..yah karena di wall, banyak ikannya. dan arusnya searah, jadi tidak perlu berenang melawan arus seperti di Gamat dan Manta P. Waktu snorkeling juga cuma sebentar, am. Padahal belum puas snorkeling, eh sudah balik ke hostel. Apakah aman? kalau yang belum terbiasa snorkeling di arus kencang, lebih baik jangan. Tapi tetap aman, kalau ada sesuatu bisa minta tolong karena spot berenangnya biasanya Tempat Wisata. Mau yang Timur atau Barat? Menurutku pantai nya bagus yang di Barat. Harus lihat birunya laut dan hempasan ombak yang keren. Tapi kalau cukup waktu, memang harus ke arah Timur juga. karena sensasinya beda, merasakan jalanan menuju lokasinya saja antara Barat dan Timur sudah beda rasa nya… Tapi kalau mau seperti aku juga bisa, sehari ambil dua2nya, negosiasi saja dengan driver nya. Memang melelahkan banget… tapi ada juga tempat wisata di jalur Utara, tapi kata beberapa orang kurang bagus. Ke toilet bayar 5000, kenapa mahal? kata penduduk disana, air bersih susah di dapat. Dan pengirimannya juga jauh-jauh. Jadi jangan complain ya, anggap saja sekalian motor aman? Banyak turis yang jatuh dari motor, dan karena tanah disana berkarang kapur, jadi tidak sedikit yang terluka. Jadi hati-hati ya! Semoga pemerintah bisa lebih cepat memperbaiki jalanan nya dan membangun fasilitas dermaga yang lama waktu yang dibutuhkan antara 1 tempat ke tempat lainnya? Ada yang sekitar 15 menit, ada juga yang 30 menit. Kalau dari barat ke timur sekitar 1 jam di awal Juli 2019 kemarin tidak terlalu padat turisnya Dan ini juga bergantung dari kepadatan tris dan cekatan pengemudi ya! Re Traveling solo at Nusa penida 4 years ago Hi i'll be making a trip there too next week with another friend, and I have been asking around as well along with having the advantage of being local After some research, if you are going solo, i found that the cheapest option so far would be to book a Western Penida Tour on Klook for foreigner, including the boat tickets, driver+car, lunch. I checked and called them, and they said they will have a maximum 6 people of the tour supposedly 8hr long, they use Dwi Manunggal boats. I think it's a very good deal as the boat tickets alone will cost you 300k. It's an open trip, you can pick the date that you like. If you cant find it on klook, i can send you the link if you want. It's the cheapest so far, as other companies' online quote are crazy sometimes i saw a couple of website asking for 1million per person just for a day trip! It really is better if you contact the agent/company directly via phone which is probably hard for you to do until you are in Bali If you manage to have a friend with you, it'll probably cheaper to buy tickets around 250k-300k return sanur-np for foreign tourists, but this quote can vary depending on the company- Dwi Manunggal that goes to the Western port / Toyapakeh, charges 300k when i call their agent yesterday, and hire a driver off the boat for 550k-600k for the day to do the Western Tour. I managed to get a driver's contact through a friend who has used his service before and was quoted 550k, which is the lowest so far probably because i'm local though my friend is a foreigner and was referred by a friend. But you can easily get a driver and haggle. 600k-700k is the usual rate i heard, so even if u get it down to 600k, that's already very good.
